Mengkong Lor of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born October 27, 1940, in Battambang province, Cambodia, the son of Song Guech Lor and You Y Lim.
Throughout Mr. Lor’s life, he dedicated himself to work, ensuring his family was well cared for. He married the love of his life, Miss Cheng Sou, on January 16, 1980, and together they built a beautiful life. He had a strong work ethic that only matched his deep love for his family. Mr. Lor enjoyed watching volleyball and playing ping pong. His greatest joy in life was the time spent with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Lor will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Lor was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Cheng Sou, of the home; two sons, Sochea Kong and wife, Chamnab Chan, of Newport and Bonly Kong of Cambodia; two daughters, Thida Kong and Phaklika Kong, both of Cambodia; and two grandchildren, Chanpiseth Chea and Edward Chea.
