Shirley Pauline (Vaulner) West departed this life on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born April 2, 1944 in Cord, the daughter of Orville Pauline and Virgie Estella (Cooper) Vaulner.
Ms. West was a graduate of Cord Charlotte High School. She retired from GDX after thirty years of service. Ms. West hobbies included working in her flower beds and going to dances with her sister. Her favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended the Cord Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Pleasant Lee “Tootie” Vaulner and Calvin Ray “Gabby” Vaulner; and her parents.
Ms. West is survived by one son, David West of Newark; one daughter, Tracie Freeman of Newport; one brother, Arvil Dee Vaulner of Batesville; two sisters, Jessie Bell Flinn of Wyoming and Bettie Ruth Brink of Batesville; four grandchildren, Laci Cameron and husband, James, of Newport, Tyler Freeman and wife, Brittney, of Newport, Abagail Grace West of Newark, and McKinley Thomas West of Benton; two great grandchildren, Taydem Alyse Ware and Kyleigh Christine Ware both of Newport; numerous nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Wednesday 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
