A product from Independence County’s newest industry, Independent Stave Company, is now on display at the Independence County Courthouse, thanks to County Judge Kevin Jeffery (above).
Independent Stave Company broke ground on the new $30 million production facility on July 22, 2022, with a 2023 year-end completion date. (See image below.)
Independent Stave is the largest spirit barrel producer in the world and is currently running two production shifts at the local facility. White oak, one of 160 tree species in the Natural State, is the wood of choice for making barrel staves.
“We are thrilled to have this exciting industry in our county, and Independent Stave Company is a world-class company that chose to complement our great county,” Jeffery told White River Now.
