A 42-year-old Oxford man is facing four felony counts of sexual assault and one felony count of sexually grooming a child, according to Izard County Circuit Court records filed Monday.
Authorities booked Gerald Lawrence Villneff Jr. (pictured), 42, into the Izard County Jail on the charges on March 6, setting his bond at $100,000.
According to the arrest affidavit, the Izard County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO) received tips from the Arkansas State Police Child Abuse Hotline and the ISCO website regarding allegations against Villneff.
The affidavit noted that the charges were brought after authorities interviewed the victim and multiple witnesses who corroborated statements from the victim and after they examined evidence seized at the Villneff residence.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is still active and ongoing.
