Brenda Sue (Heard) Davidson was born on July 7, 1952, in San Diego, California, to Robert and Bonnie Heard, Brenda entered this world with a heart made for loving others. On March 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, she was welcomed into her heavenly home by her Savior. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we rejoice in the promise that she is now at peace, whole, and restored in the presence of Jesus.
Brenda didn’t just love – she was love. It wasn’t a choice or an effort; it was simply who she was, woven into the very fabric of her being. Loving others was as natural to her as breathing, and what a beautiful testament that is to a life well-lived. The love of Jesus radiated through her – in her warm hugs, her joyful laughter, her gentle smile, and her nurturing spirit. She was completely devoted to people, always making sure that everyone she encountered felt seen, valued, and deeply loved.
As the eldest of five children, Brenda embraced her role with responsibility and a servant’s heart. She carried those traits into every aspect of her life – as a devoted wife, loving mother, treasured Nana, sister, aunt, and friend. She gave of herself freely and unconditionally.
A proud graduate of Bald Knob High School’s Class of 1970, Brenda pursued her passion for caring for others by earning an associate’s degree in Nursing from ASU in 1972. She dedicated her career to healing and comforting, first as a hospital nurse and later as the beloved school nurse at Cedar Ridge School District for over 26 years. She made it her mission to know every child’s name within the first month of school, ensuring each one felt safe and loved. Her impact on the community was profound, and her kindness left a lasting mark on countless lives.
Brenda found joy in the simple moments – painting, gardening, baking, traveling with her husband, and soaking in the beauty of the family farm. She treasured her time on the back porch, chatting with loved ones and watching her hummingbirds. Her life reflected gratitude for God’s blessings, both big and small.
Her greatest joy, however, was her family. In 1973, Brenda married Bobby Pollard, with whom she built a beautiful life until his passing. In 2013, she found love again with Jerry Davidson of Conway, and together, they shared 11 years filled with travel, laughter, and the joys of a quiet, retired life.
As a devoted mother, she leaves behind her son, Timothy Pollard (Tarah) of Farmington, and her daughter, Stephanie Carper (Phillip) of North Little Rock, whose lives were forever shaped by her unwavering love and support. She shared a lifetime of memories and laughter with her beloved siblings: Barbara Kee (Jess) of Bald Knob, Donna Heard & Vicki Patterson of Bald Knob, Ron Heard (Nanette) of Jonesboro, and Louise Duke (Dale) of Concord.
But perhaps no role brought her more delight than being an adored Nana to Annabelle, Tage, and Tayden. They were the lights of her life, and she took immense joy in cheering them on, celebrating their milestones, and showering them with the kind of love that only a Nana can give.
Brenda also leaves behind dear lifelong friends, Dianne Pratt and Cindy Pankey of Oil Trough and Ann McCaa of Truman, along with numerous cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bonnie Heard; her first husband, Bobby Pollard; her sister, Paula Millikin; and her special friend, Jane Sullivan.
Though she has left our earthly home, Brenda’s love remains woven into the fabric of our lives. She has fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7). Her kindness, unwavering faith, and the joy she found in serving and loving others will live on in the hearts of all blessed to know her.
Until we see her again, we will carry her legacy forward, loving as she loved, serving as she served, and trusting in the promise of eternal life through Christ.
