
Jimmy Ray Billings of Texarkana, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born March 12, 1940, in Newport, Arkansas, the son of Alfard James Billings and Eunice Irene (Smith) Billings.
Mr. Billings was a 1958 graduate of Tuckerman High School. He married the love of his life, Miss Joyce Jones, on July 15, 1960, and together they enjoyed nearly 64 years.
Mr. Billings dedicated his career to Central Woodwork as a salesman and manager until retiring in 2016. Known for his strong work ethic and enthusiasm, he made a lasting impact on his colleagues and clients.
Mr. Billings was an avid collector of fountain pens. He enjoyed working in his yard, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
Mr. Billings was a much loved, dedicated member and the head of security at Unity Baptist Church in Texarkana.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Billings is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Billings of the home; one daughter, Jo Alice Harris and husband, Brent, of West Helena; two grandchildren, Aaron Michael Harris of Maumelle, and Dustin Ray Harris of West Helena; five great-grandchildren, Dustin, Jr., Sebastian, Emmy, Kairi, and Phoenix; three brothers, Keith Billings of Newport, Larry Billings of Tuckerman, and Bobby Billings and wife, Betty of Germantown, Tennessee; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dean Grigsby officiating. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery at Tuckerman. Friends may visit the funeral home, Thursday, 12:30 until service time.
