Johnny Robert Riley ‶J. R. ″Riley, 74 of Harrisburg, Arkansas departed this life Monday, March 17, 2025 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. J R was born January 11, 1951 in Harrisburg, Arkansas the son of Johnny Robert Riley SR. and Anna Claire (Tunnell) Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Rachel West and one brother, Eric Burchfield. J R graduated from Harrisburg high School in 1969. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1969 until 1992 a total of 23 years. His certificate of release or discharge page shows a long list of medals, ribbons, and commendations with stars or ribbons, also Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Ribbon with Star, badges, service medals, Navy Unit Commendation and letter of appreciation. Last several years J R has been Property Manager for Claypool Wild Acres LLC in Weiner, Arkansas. He is a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Harrisburg and Commander of CC Hill Post 14 American Legion for 2024. A person that truly enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting practice, and spending time with family and friends. J R and Angelia Durham got married on February 26, 2022 and they enjoyed several years together. He is survived by his wife, Angelia, children: Jerrad A (Kassi) Riley of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Charles Scott (Chaz) and wife, Kylea Riley of Fort Hood, Texas, Ulric (Ashley) Graham of Harrisburg, Stephanie Scarbough of Wynne, Arkansas, Tennille Chamberlian of Hernando, Mississippi, and Autumn Cain of Jonesboro, Arkansas, siblings: Lanny (Marti) Riley of Marion, Arkansas, Michael (Teresa) Riley of Des Arc, Arkansas, Chris Burchfield of Harrisburg, Arkansas, Dud Riley of Newark, Arkansas, Pete Riley of Bartlett, Tennessee, Karen Garner of Wynne, Arkansas, Fran Ramsey of Harrisburg, Arkansas, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grands, and Step-Mom, Cindy Riley of Harrisburg, Arkansas. Memorial Service will be at Jackson’s Funeral Home Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 3:00 P. M. Bro. Jason Goad will conduct the service with American Legion C C Hill Post #14 in charge of the flag ceremony. Visitation will be Sunday in the Chapel family will come at 1:00 P. M. friends will come at 2:00 until service time. Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 P. M. Cremation has been chosen as final disposition. In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund has been set up for J R Riley at Unico Bank in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
