A precautionary boil water notice has been issued for all Cave City Water customers following a water system valve failure and subsequent loss of water in one of the city’s storage tanks.
Mayor Jonas Anderson and Water Department Superintendent Payton Wooldridge announced the notice, which is effective immediately. Residents are advised to bring water to a rolling boil before using it for drinking or cooking or to use bottled water until the advisory is lifted.
City officials stated that updates will be provided as repairs are completed, water samples are tested, and the notice is lifted.
Bottled water is available at the tornado relief center located in the Cave City Middle School gym for those in need during this time.
Officials urge residents to share the information and appreciate the community’s support as the situation is addressed.
