
Ellen Marie Smith Stroud entered the gates of Heaven on March 25, 2025. She was born to Otis and Rena Smith in Ozark, Arkansas, on January 24, 1952. A sweet, Christian lady who loved people. She retired from Walmart as the over the counter manager for the pharmacy after 32 years. A member of West Baptist Church for 42 years. She loved her grandchildren from the bottom of her heart. She enjoyed deer and turkey hunting with her husband, sons, and daughter-in-law. She loved her pets and the deer she fed daily in the back yard, and a lover of nature. She enjoyed watching Razorback football, basketball, softball, and baseball with her husband and children.
Preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Rita Sue Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Gary D. Stroud of 42 years; two sons, Jeremy M. Lessley (Chantel) of Batesville and Kris L. Stroud of Excelsion Springs, MO; two brothers, Dwayne Smith (Nancy) of Mulberry, AR and Rocky J. Smith (Sandra) of Ozark, AR; grandchildren, Morgan Lessley Wimberley (Andrew) of Batesville; Avery Scout Lessley of Little Rock, Katelynn Stroud of Excelsion Springs, Dalton River Stroud of Excelsion Springs; great grandchildren, Asher and Archer Wimberley; step grandson, Trevor Finnie; one uncle, Jim Trotter of Fort Smith along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the West Baptist Church in Batesville, with Bro. Alan Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery in Batesville.

Visitation will begin Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 6-8 P.M. at the Qualls Batesville Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Keith Harmon, Barry Farrell, Bob Pomeroy, Andrew Wimberley, Brian Reaves, and Shannon Huff.
