According to court records, Batesville police responded to a threat at a medical office on Thursday after an employee reported her ex-husband, 31-year-old Dillon Ray Sallas (pictured below), had messaged her with violent threats.

Police say the woman stated Sallas texted her requesting a weekend visit with their children. After she denied the request, citing his recent threats, he allegedly sent a message threatening her.

According to the affidavit, Sallas’s mother then contacted the woman, warning her to stay inside, saying Sallas was on his way to harm her. He also reportedly left a threatening voicemail.

Records indicate Sallas had previously made suicide threats, leading to the removal of weapons from his home. It’s unclear if they were returned, the affidavit said.

According to Region 8 News, Sallas is an eighth-grade teacher and football coach for the Cave City School District.

Sallas was booked into the Independence County Jail on Thursday. He was released on a $2,500 bond. He faces one felony count of first-degree terroristic threatening.
