On Feb. 25, 2025, officers with the Batesville Police Department participated in critical life-saving training at the Batesville Community Center to ensure they remain prepared for emergencies.
Facilitated by Vital Link, the training covered CPR certification and Stop the Bleed techniques, equipping officers with essential skills in casualty and wound treatment.
Chief John Scarbrough, Captain Fred Friar, Lieutenant Rob Leonard, and the rest of the command staff emphasized the importance of keeping officers current on these vital procedures, which can benefit the public and fellow officers during high-stress situations.
Randall Crabtree led the CPR portion of the training, while Mark Mosier instructed the Stop the Bleed class. The latter included classroom instruction and hands-on practice in tourniquet use, wound packing, chest seals, and other bleeding control techniques essential in managing traumatic injuries.
This recurrent training ensures that all officers maintain proficiency in emergency response, reinforcing their readiness to act swiftly and effectively.
The Batesville Police Department extends its gratitude to Vital Link for making this invaluable training possible.
