Obituary:  Carolyn (Peters) Clark Kell

Carolyn (Peters) Clark Kell of Tuckerman, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born on Mother’s Day, May 13, 1945, in Paragould, Arkansas, the daughter of George and Anna Nell (Holcomb) Peters.

Miss Peters attended Newport Schools most of her life but graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1963. Miss Carolyn Peters married Mr. Fred L. Clark in 1962. They moved back to Tuckerman in 1968, and had two children, daughter Sherri and son Chris.

Mrs. Clark began her banking career working for First National Bank, now known as Regions Bank. She was the manager at the Tuckerman Branch and the Newport Branch. She headed the loan department before becoming a Loan Officer and the first female Vice President. She retired in 1994 after serving 29 years.

Mrs. Clark married George C. Kell, Sr., on May 7, 1994, and has resided in Swifton for 27 years before moving back to her home in Tuckerman. She loved attending her grandchildren’s events and working in the yard and her flower garden.

Mrs. Kell was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Kell, Sr.; two brothers, Bobby Joe Peters and Don Peters; her father, George Peters; and her mother, Anna Robertson.

She is survived by one son, Chris Clark and wife, Melanie, of Tuckerman; one daughter, Sherri Bennett and husband, Paul, of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Matthew Murphy, Hailey Clark Neeley, Andy Clark, Seth Clark, Trey Bennett, Julia Bennett, and Mary Grace Dunning; two great grandchildren, Tucker Neeley, and Ruby Grace Dunning; one special niece, Michelle Peters Kieffer; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Private family services will be held.

The family wants to thank all her caregivers throughout the years. The family requests donations be made to St. Jude Hospital. 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
