Allen Edison Cordell, of Tuckerman, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the age of 72. He was born on November 23, 1952, in Newport, the son of Paul Edison Cordell and Mildred Carnell (Richards) Cordell.

A 1971 graduate of Newport High School, Allen went on to build a life grounded in love, hard work, and friendship. On September 28, 1974, he married his soulmate, Pat Brown, and together they shared over fifty wonderful years.

Allen developed many lifelong friends in his years working at Norandal and Farmers Oil. Known for his warm spirit and generous heart, Allen never met a stranger. He had a genuine gift for conversation and a love for gathering with family and friends, always ready to host a meal and share a laugh.

A devoted sports fan, Allen cheered passionately for the Arkansas Razorbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals but most of all any game that his kids or grandkids were playing in.

Above all, he will be remembered for his selflessness, his unwavering love for his family, and his willingness to help anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jeanette Hare and Paulette Jones.
Allen leaves behind his loving wife, Pat Cordell of the home; his children, Benji Cordell (Mandy) of Hot Springs, and Dallas Cordell George (Thor) of Jonesboro; four cherished grandchildren, Carsen Cordell, Layton Cordell, Addy George, and Ace George; two brothers, Steve Cordell (Nancy) of Newport, and Carl Cordell of Texas; and one sister, Charlotte Murphy (Dan) of Austin. He is also survived by many other beloved family members and a lifetime of dear friends.

Pallbearers will be Benji Cordell, Layton Cordell, Thor George, Ace George, Steve Cordell, and Dan Murphy.

Honorary pallbearers include Carl Cordell, Dale Davis, Clayton, Don, and Rick Brown and the Newport High School Class of 1971.

Special thanks to Legacy Hospice and St. Bernards.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Gracelawn Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home.
