Obituary: Paul Higginbotham

Paul was born on September 4, 1946, in St. Joseph, Louisiana. He went home to be with our Lord and Savior on February 12, 2023.

Paul lived and raised his children in north Louisiana and worked for 30 years for Pabco, Inc. He moved to Mountain View, Arkansas in 1999 to retire on a beautiful mountain, in the home he loved with magnificent sunset views. Paul loved gardening, and feeding and watching the birds, the hummingbirds being his favorite. His ”little buddy,” Charlie, was in his lap every day to cuddle and watch TV.

Paul faithfully served our Lord, serving as Deacon and Sunday School Director at Foothills Baptist Church for many years. He was known by many to be a man with a heart of gold. Paul loved his family more than anything and has left a great legacy of love in each one of them.

Paul is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Frances Barfield Higginbotham and his sister, Cloteal Stockstill.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Daphne, and by his brother, Ray Higginbotham of Newellton LA; daughters, Carol Ekenseair (Ken) of Plumerville, AR, Paula Higginbotham of Plano, TX, Amy Robey (Scott) of Lakehills, TX; grandchildren, James Paul Conn of Ruston LA, Rachel Teffs of Maumelle, AR, Landon Hill, Hayden Hill, and Dakota Hill all of Dallas, TX and Dylan Robey and Jordan Robey of Lakehills, TX. His great-grandchildren, Savannah Smith and Emma Smith, Cason Conn and Cadie Conn, Harper Hill, Kinsley Hill, Marianna Hill and Cameron Hill. Paul had numerous nieces and nephews, and dear friends and church family.

Funeral Services for Paul will be 11 AM Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Foothills Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will follow at The Historical Cemetery of Mountain View. Brother Tommy Medley will officiate. Pallbearers will be James Paul Conn, Landon Hill, Hayden Hill, Dakota Hill, Dylan Robey, and Scott Higginbotham.
