A Jonesboro Police Department K9 helped alert its partner to a big stash of illegal drugs and firearms in the back of a pick-up truck during a recent traffic stop.

According to a release from the department, K9 Officer Corey Obregon and his four-legged partner, Vault, (pictured) uncovered the items during a traffic stop last week in Jonesboro. The sheriff’s department said that when Vault started being a little curious about the back of the truck, the driver allegedly became nervous and said, “You guys got me.”

What was in the back of the truck? According to the release, the driver said there were: 40 pounds of marijuana in two trash bags; pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes; THC live resin; THC vape pens; and several vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana.

Investigators said approximately 24,221 grams of marijuana packaged in vacuum-sealed bags; a loaded 9 mm pistol; 21 alprazolam pills; 200 vape pen cartridges; and 30 pre-rolled marijuana blunts were discovered inside the vehicle. A search warrant for the driver’s residence allegedly yielded four loaded firearms; 68 pre-rolled marijuana cigars; 3,024 grams of marijuana live resin; 15,512 grams of marijuana in vacuum-sealed bags; 200 vape pen cartridges; and 100 disposable vape pens.

The driver was identified as Brentley Dewayne Gipson, 27, according to Region 8 News. The Jonesboro television station said Gipson is currently free on a $200,000 cash/surety bond awaiting his first appearance in circuit court on March 28.
