Independence, Izard, Sharp, Cleburne, Jackson, and other counties in the area are under a Hazardous Weather Outlook for today and tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Isolated tornadoes are possible over portions of central and eastern Arkansas, and some strong to severe storms will occur tonight through Thursday morning, the NWS says. The main threats will be large hail and damaging winds.
And the Black River at Black Rock is still under a flood warning affecting Independence, Jackson, and Lawrence counties.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Remember: turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
