A custodian at Batesville Junior High School is the February recipient of the Citizens Bank ‘Above & Beyond’ award.
Mary Ann Briley (pictured above, right, with Citizens Bank’s Ashley Engles) accepted the honor at the Monday night Batesville School Board meeting.
Working hard to ensure the school’s facilities are clean and running smoothly for her students and colleagues, Briley does it all with a big heart and smile, a release from Citizens Bank noted.
Her peers said:
- “Mary Ann has such a sweet disposition and is always kind and loving towards adults and students in the building. She does a lot and I appreciate that she handles it all so sweetly.”
- “Mary Ann always has a smile on her face and takes amazing care of our campus.”
- “She always tries to encourage others, while going above and beyond to meet the needs of each classroom. Her positive spirit is contagious! She brightens your day with her smile. For all that she continues to do in her position, I feel that she needs some extra recognition. It is well deserved.”
Since 2012, Citizens Bank and the Batesville School District have recognized staff members who go “above and beyond” to realize the district’s mission to empower today’s students for tomorrow’s challenges. Staff in all schools and departments throughout the district nominate award recipients, who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card, and a 16-ounce insulated cup from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Batesville School Board meeting each month.
