Stone Bank’s home office in Mountain View has undergone a recent remodeling, with a special exhibit added that pays tribute to the history of folk music in Stone County.
Curated by Stone Bank’s Patricia Caston and local folk historian Renee Carr, the exhibit showcases the history of folk music in the region. The display includes photos, news stories, instruments, and other artifacts donated by local families who have been a part of the area’s musical traditions.
In a release announcing the new exhibit, the bank said it is “deeply involved in preserving the history and culture of Stone County.” The bank also serves as a sponsor of this year’s Sesquicentennial events, the Ozark Folk Center, Ozark Highlands Radio, and the Music Roots program.
The exhibit is open to the public and can be viewed at Stone Bank’s home office located at 802 E. Main St. during business hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
