Family Violence Prevention (FVP) is partnering with the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) to assist DHS clients with the renewal process for their Medicaid and ArKids benefits.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the renewal process for medical benefits from DHS was paused, and clients did not have to renew their information to continue to receive benefits.
DHS has now started a program called Renew Arkansas to ensure everyone gets their information renewed to avoid any disruptions in benefits.
Advocates from FVP are at the Fresh Start Resale Shop, located at 1280 N. St Louis St. in Batesville, across from Comfort Suites, throughout this week to assist clients with the process.
The schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Wednesday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Thursday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Family Violence Prevention assists individuals and families experiencing domestic abuse and sexual assault to choose options and to control their own lives by providing crisis intervention and a full range of support services. FVP also works to empower the community to understand and prevent the crimes of domestic abuse and sexual assault. For more information, visit batesvillefamilyviolence.com.
