Two members of the Arkansas Razorbacks men’s basketball team are scheduled to appear at Southside Schools’ Stewart Field to close out the school district’s observation of Mental Health Awareness Spirit Week (April 17 through April 21).
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. this Friday, the event, entitled “Meet You at the Big Top,” will also include a “Carnival of Fun,” where attendees can enjoy booths, games, and food, as well as the Southside Mental Health Awareness 5K Color Run.
And Razorbacks Kamani Johnson and Joseph Pinion will be signing autographs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A group of students from the Southside Charter High School Mental Health Awareness Club visited with Arkansas 103.3 KWOZ’s Wes Gwaltney on this morning’s edition of his “Slightly Scrambled” show about Friday’s “Meet You at the Big Top.”

Proceeds from last year’s event went to pay for, Jaxie, the Southside campus’ therapy dog. This year, proceeds will go toward different programs and speakers to raise awareness about mental health.
