The Independence County Sheriff’s Office will host a golf tournament on Friday, May 12, at the Course at Eagle Mountain, 800 Gap Rd., in Batesville.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Arkansas Sheriff’s Association Sheriff’s Wife Scholarship Fund. The tournament is a four-man scramble with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Registration is $400 per team, and sponsors are invited to sponsor a hole for $100.
The event is sponsored by Colton’s Steakhouse in Batesville, Keystone Solutions, and Rawk Imprinting, and organizers say there will be door prizes. To register, call (870) 612-8000. The deadline to register is May 6.
The Arkansas Sheriffs’ Association is comprised of Sheriffs from across the state and provides up-to-date information for Arkansas Sheriffs and Deputies regarding relevant issues concerning law enforcement. According to its website, its objective “…shall be to band together the Sheriffs of the State of Arkansas; to assist each other in the enforcement of criminal laws; to promote programs of continuing education; and to work in harmony in the enactment of such legislation that may affect their respective offices. Arkansas Sheriffs from across the state proudly serve and protect the citizens of Arkansas.”
