Obituary: Clarence Eugene Midgett

Clarence Eugene Midgett of Tuckerman, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the age of 71. He was born May 19, 1951, in Walnut Ridge, the son of Everett Stillwell and Clara (Billingsly) Midgett.

Mr. Midgett was the former pastor of New Life Church in Tuckerman and was a current member of Newport Pentecostal Church of God. He was a graduate of the A.I.M. Program and took 2 years of Bible Classes.

He was a volunteer fireman for the Tuckerman Fire Department. Mr. Midgett enjoyed joking with people, watching wrestling, fishing, and hunting. He always said he was “Blest by the Best.”

He was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Midgett; one sister, Rosa Midgett; infant twin grandchildren, Tiffney and Piper; two great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Draven; one nephew, Dewayne Midgett; one niece, Theresa Sales; and his parents.

Mr. Midgett is survived by his wife, Mary Alice (Wells) Midgett of the home; one son, Daniel Midgett, and wife, Cheryl Lynn of Tuckerman; two daughters, Mary Gail Miller and husband, Sonnie, of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Jennifer Kay Midgett of Tuckerman, seven grandchildren, ShiAnn Bumpous Powell, Jessie Bumpous, Aaron Miller, Makayla Miller, Disa Spotts and husband, Josh, Caleb Martin, and Noah Martin; one great-grandchild, Ashling Spotts; one brother, Leon Midgett and wife, Linda, of St. Peters, Missouri; and a lifetime of friends.

Visitation is Saturday, May 20, 2023, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Memorial services following at 2:00 p.m. at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marty Russell and Bro. Tim Waterman officiating.

Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy King, Sidney Wells, Michael Bright, and Larry Bumpous.
