A Batesville man with multiple felony warrants was arrested early Monday morning after leading police on a pursuit.

Christopher Keith Adams, 42, was arrested after a chase that began in Batesville and ended in Cave City, according to his arrest affidavit. Adams was driving a Chevrolet Equinox when he was spotted by Batesville police officers at an area gas station around 3 a.m. Monday. When the officers tried to pull Adams over, the affidavit said he sped away.

Adams then led officers on a high-speed pursuit, with police officers from Cave City joining in once Adams entered their area. The affidavit noted Adams was wearing a wig at the time of his arrest and was taken into custody without incident.

Adams was wanted on multiple felony warrants, including forgery, theft of property, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was also wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in court.

According to the affidavit, authorities received information from a bonding company noting Adams was headed into Batesville from Locust Grove before his arrest.

Adams is facing one felony charge of fleeing by means of a vehicle. He’s also being charged as a habitual offender. Adams is being held in the Independence County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
