Obituary: Carl Douglas Fallis, Sr.

Carl Douglas Fallis, Sr., of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the age of 90. He was born April 17, 1933, in Alicia, the son of Allie Gus and Bessie (Humphrey) Fallis.

Mr. Fallis was married to Miss Susie Jones on December 23, 1954, and together they enjoyed over 68 years, of raising a family and building a home together.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Fallis was proud to be a veteran.

He was a retired machinist, who never really stopped working. Mr. Fallis could build or repair about anything and especially enjoyed working on tractors. He did not have a lazy bone in his body and was a hard worker until his very last day.

Mr. Fallis enjoyed tractors and old cars and, most importantly, loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Swifton Church of Christ.

Mr. Fallis was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gus.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Susie Fallis of the home; three children, Sonny Fallis of Swifton, Sam Fallis of Newark, and Leitta Williamson of Cairo, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Cory Fallis, Jeremy Fallis, Felecia Fallis, Danny Williamson, Suzanne Mock, Stacy Scott, Kristin James, Kris Fallis and Brian Fallis; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, David Fallis of Alma; and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit the funeral home, Wednesday morning, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. at Calvin Crossing Cemetery at Alicia.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Cory Fallis, Jeremy Fallis, Danny Williamson, Kris Fallis, Brian Fallis, and Payton Sims.
