Shirley Jean (Roberts) Campbell,73, of Newport departed this life on Monday, June 12, 2023. She was born December 13, 1949, to Leslie Clay and Lucille (Walden) Roberts.
She was a very outgoing, energetic person who loved being around people. She is well known in the community for working at Pizza Hut for 28 years. During those years she had the opportunity to meet and make many friends. Her friends and co-workers affectionately called her “Pearl”. Shirley loved spending time with her family. Family gatherings were some of her favorite times. She also loved taking care of her beloved cockatiel, Key Coo, her plants and her patio.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Richard Alvin Campbell; her sister, Judy Hughes; her brother, L.C. Roberts; her grandson, Ricky Campbell JR.; and her nephew, Gene Roberts.
She is survived by her brothers, Bill Roberts (Diann) of Newport, Bobby Roberts (Shirley) of Monticello, Charles Roberts (Barbara) of Tuckerman; her sister, Patricia McKenney of Newport; her great-grandson, Daniel Campbell of North Caroline; her nephews, Alex McKenney of Horn Lake, Mississippi, Jeremy Tolerson of Burleson, Texas, Karridy Hughes of Ft. Worth, Texas, Ronnie Roberts of Little Rock, Joey Roberts of Monticello and her nieces, Sandra and Loretta Roberts.
Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the chapel. The interment will be at Gracelawn Cemetery.
