Mary Evelyn (Britnell) Williams of Harrisburg, entered into the arms of Jesus on July 4, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. She was born May 21, 1938, in Harrisburg, and had recently celebrated her 85th birthday.

Evelyn married James Williams on July 15, 1955, and they enjoyed 67 years together.
She worked alongside her husband, James, at The Bank of Harrisburg for almost 50 years, and developed many friendships with customers through those years. After they both retired in 2005, she enjoyed taking bus trips with fellow seniors to various destinations.

Evelyn was “Nanny” to the family, and she loved family dinners. For many years, she cooked a birthday lunch for each family member’s birthday, until the family grew so large that it became difficult to do so. But even then, she made sure that they received a card and gift on their special day. Evelyn enjoyed baking, church potlucks, going to her weekly beauty shop appointment, looking at cookbooks, and reading her Bible. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Harrisburg for 55 years, where she was a member of the Helen Foust Sunday School Class.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Ruthie Britnell Roberts, and her brother James Britnell, and sister-in-law Shirley Britnell.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, James M. Williams, of the home; two daughters, Vickie Morris, and her husband, Keith, of Harrisburg, and Pamela Harper and her husband, Scott, of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Bridgette Loggains and her husband Darryl of Harrisburg; Jennifer Morris of Harrisburg; Jordan Harper and his wife Sarah of Harrisburg; and Kayla Pickney and her husband Jaxon, of Highland, AR; and four great-grandchildren, Ryce Loggains and Heather Loggains, Adalee Mink, and Tate Harper.

She is also survived by her siblings Ruby (Billy) Meacham of Bartlett, TN, David Britnell and Donald (Rhonda) Britnell of Highland, AR, and Freda (Roger) Brown, of Harrisburg.

Funeral services are set for Friday, July 7, 2023, at 10:00 at Jackson’s Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 6th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 88, Harrisburg, AR 72432.
