The hot temperatures have prompted organizers of the Levitt AMP Batesville Music Festival to move tonight’s concert from Riverside Park to the Batesville Community Center.

Illinois-based Miles Over Mountains (pictured above), an acoustic bluegrass/roots/Americana band, will headline tonight’s event. According to the band’s website, Miles Over Mountains plays “…a modernized style of progressive bluegrass covering a wide spectrum of genres, dynamics, and feeling.”

Local artist Erin Walters will open the evening. The event begins at 6 p.m.

Concessions, including hot dogs, barbecue sandwiches, nachos, and popcorn, will be available in the community center. No outside food or drinks will be allowed in the community center.

Last November, Batesville was named one of 33 small to mid-sized towns and cities across America to receive a Levitt AMP Batesville Grant Award of $90,000 in matching funds to present a free concert series at Riverside Park through 2025. Main Street Batesville submitted the Levitt AMP proposal and is presenting the concert series.
