Dorla Jean McMan Guenzel
of Batesville, AR

February 26, 1930 – July 20, 2023

Dorla Jean McMan Guenzel died peacefully on Thursday, July 20, 2023, in Batesville at the age of 93. She was born to Guy B McMan and Mittie White McMan on February 26th, 1930, in Holdenville, Okla.

She was a long-time member of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church. She loved her church and, most of all, loved being a part of the Thanksgiving Harvest Dinner. Her favorite part was making the dressing in a large washtub.

Dorla was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Ophelia Head Potter and four brothers, Loyd McMan, Bobby McMan, Orville McMan, and J.W. Head. She was also preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Kenton Guenzel Sr.

Dorla is survived by Kenton “Kinky” (Mary) Guenzel of Greers Ferry, Ark., and Larry Jack Guenzel of Batesville. She is also survived by her grandson Kenton “Kenny” (Colleen) Guenzel and three great-grandchildren Kayden, Carsen, and Kenton Guenzel of Cabot, Ark.

She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to travel, read, do word searches, and play board games with her friends and family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Amanda Johnson and the wonderful nurses on the second and fourth floor at WRMC. The family would also like to thank her two special neighbors, Kevin and Kristie Jenkins, and Janice and Seth Fuller, for always loving and caring for Dorla for many years.

There will be a memorial service for family and friends to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 2255, Batesville, AR, 72503.
