Donis Parsley, 70, of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 in Batesville, Arkansas.

He was born December 17, 1952 in Batesville to Willard and Irene (Foley) Parsley. Donis was a follower of Christ since 1965. A Deacon of Victory Baptist Church in Sherwood, Arkansas for over 40 years, and is a current member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City, Arkansas.

The smell of freshly cut grass brings joy to his family because of his delight in keeping the church lawn pristine. He was a craftsman and always loved to make things for others.  He continually served his church and others with the love of Christ. He worked over 40 years at DP&L Printing, with some entertaining characters. Donis loved his family and his dogs. Many people know he loved a good joke and he wants us to please keep the laughs coming!!

He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister in law, Kay Money Parsley, and one brother in law, Ricky Musick.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Martha Parsley ,of the home; his daughters, Sabrina Parsley of Columbus, Ohio, Rachel Parsley of Edinburgh, Scotland; his brothers, Darrel (Shirley) Parsley of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas, Dean (Jone) Parsley of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas and Loren (Tamra) Parsley of Batesville, Arkansas; his sister, Linda (Jerry) Morgan, a Nomad and a Gypsy originally from Eldorado, Arkansas; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral services were Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City, Arkansas with Bro. Ron Canard and Bro. Tom Hart officiating. Burial followed in the Spotts Cemetery in Poughkeepsie with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers were Joshua Musick, Canon Morgan, Brady Morgan, Jonathan Simmons, Mason Simmons and David Stotelmyer.

Honorary pallbearers were Donald Simmons, Tommy Masner, Billy Musick, Gus Musick, Greg Parsley, Bob Raymer, Dennis Walling, Dean Hastings and Dustin Smith.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Widow’s Fund at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City.
