Among the many laws passed in the last Arkansas Legislative session were eight culture-related Laws.
Among those laws was Act 131, which set restrictions on adult-oriented performances.
Another was Act 274, which is also known as “The Medical Malpractice Law.” The law is intended to allow anyone who received gender-affirming care as a minor to file a malpractice lawsuit against a doctor up to 15 years after their 18th birthday.
Another culture-related law is Act 195, known as the Youth Hiring Act. It allows people younger than 16 to work in the state without needing an employment certificate.
Act 514 was designed to create a respectful and open world for natural hair. The law bans hair discrimination in public schools as well as universities and colleges in Arkansas.
Act 822 bans a universal basic income program. A state agency or local government is not allowed to enforce a universal basic income program under the law.
Act 629 bans industrial hemp that contains Delta 8, 9, or 10 THC.
Act 611 says public entities can’t contract with companies that boycott energy, fossil fuel, or firearms and ammunition companies.
And Act 655, which says state parks are allowed to sell alcoholic drinks for on-site consumption.
