Dinah Barker Balentine, 62, of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away August 30th, 2023, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas, surrounded by her family. She was born October 6th, 1960, in Searcy, Arkansas to Billy Wayne and Elsie Dean (Wooten) Barker.
Dinah was a Christian and of the Church of Christ faith. She was saved and baptized in the late 1980s. She was all about her family and put everybody first. She had strong willpower and determination growing up with her seven siblings. She was known for making the best food you’ve ever had, especially her chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed spending time with family/friends, watching the grandkids play sports, playing sports herself, cooking, doing crafts, fishing, camping, and gardening. She was loved and appreciated by many people and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of thirty-six years, Rueben R. Balentine; three children, Heath (Shauna) Barker of Mountain View, Arkansas, Randy (Loretta) Balentine of Harrisonville, Missouri, and Wendy (Matthew) Balentine West of Woodlands, Texas; five siblings, Jackie (Martha) Barker of West Virginia, Billy Faye Trammell of Mountain View, Arkansas, Terry (Renee) Barker of Sherwood, Arkansas, Steve (Gayle) Barker of Cabot, Arkansas, and Kevin (Sheila) Barker of Cabot, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Miranda Pfrenger, Michael Balentine, Cassandra Balentine, Joseph Balentine, Audrey Balentine, Lailee Barker, and Garrett Barker. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Dinah was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Elsie Barker; two brothers, Gary Barker and Dannie Barker.
A visitation will be held Sunday, September 3rd, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Funeral Service Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Brother Gary Don Fletcher and Paul Lee will officiate the service. Interment will take place at Pordue Cemetery, in Onia, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Heath Barker, Randy Balentine, Joseph Balentine, Garrett Barker, Kevin Barker, and Steve Barker.
Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Balentine, Paul Lee, Dustin Barker, and Bob Broyles.
