A two-vehicle accident on State Highway 367 has claimed the life of a Newport woman.
According to the state police fatality report, Betty Y. Burns, 36, was killed when the northbound Ford Mustang in which she was a passenger was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado around 6:15 Tuesday evening.
The report said the Mustang, traveling in the inside lane, made a right turn and was struck on the passenger side by the Silverado, traveling north in the outside lane.
The report said the road was dry, and the weather was clear at the time of the accident.
