On Wednesday, the oldest living military veteran in Arkansas celebrated his 106th birthday with family, friends, fellow veterans, and area dignitaries in Batesville.
World War II veteran Sgt. Lloyd Gathright was honored with the birthday celebration at Woodcrest Assisted Living. A large crowd was on hand to honor Gathright. Batesville Mayor Rick Elumbaugh presented Gathright with a Key to the City and a certificate of recognition.
