Lanney Balentine, 72, of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away September 7th, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 29th, 1950, in Big Flat, Arkansas to Leodia and Sible (George) Balentine. He married Sandra Ann Hale on June 15th, 1970.

Lanney was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. He proudly served our nation, in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War, as a medic. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family every chance he got, especially hanging out with Marshall. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing/whistling a tune, feeding his animals, gardening, and doing yard work. Lanney could always be found working on something. He always said, “Anything worth doing is worth doing three times.” He loved washing his truck and boat, whether they needed it or not. He was loved and appreciated by many people and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of fifty-three years, Sandra Ann Balentine; two daughters, Kelly (Clayton) Armour of Mountain View, Arkansas and Rachel (Rickey) Hunter of Marion, Arkansas; three brothers, Johnny (Sheryl) Balentine of Mountain View, Arkansas, Stevie (Sally) Balentine of Landis, Arkansas, and Kirby (Lora) Curtis of Fifty-Six, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Marshall (Grace) Armour, Morgan Armour, and Brandon Crome; one expected great-grandchild, due December 6th, Finnley Armour. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leodia Balentine; one brother, Danny Balentine.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
