Patty Ann Branscum, 72, passed away September 17, 2023, after more than 30 years of bravely battling cancer. She was born June 3, 1951, in Newnata, Arkansas to Dosha (Trammell) and Huey “Red” Gilbert. She attended Timbo Schools and graduated in 1970.

Shortly after graduation, she found herself employed at the Blanchard Shirt Factory where she worked for more than 10 years. After its closure, she worked at the chicken processing plant in Clinton until she was diagnosed with cancer in 1991.

Patty married the love of her life, Scott E Branscum, on September 4, 1975. They were blessed with two children: Angela born October 1976 and Neal born February 1980. More than anything Patty loved being a mom, and she worked hard to provide for her family making sure they wanted for nothing.

Some of Patty’s favorite pastimes included riding with Sylvia Morris May to the Rebel ballgames where she could be found proudly cheering from the stands. She also enjoyed gardening and loved working with her flowers. During the summer, you could find her at the produce stand on Main Street chatting and laughing with everyone that stopped by. When time allowed, she and her best friend Liz Lloyd could be found bargain-hunting across the state. Patty was a member of the Bethlehem General Baptist Church of Fox and enjoyed the Christian fellowship found at community revivals.

Left to Cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Scott E. Branscum of Fox, daughter Angela Campagna and granddaughter Bella Campagna of Conway, father Huey “Red” Gilbert, brothers Gary Gilbert and Russell Gilbert, sisters Brenda Wilson and Teresa Weatherford all of Mtn. View, as well as many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Patty was preceded in death by her mother Dosha and son Neal.

A funeral service took place with  Brother Dylan Book and Brother Dylan Stewart officiating the service. The interment was at the Fox Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Russell Gilbert, Rowdy Ross, Jim Bob White, Tim Parker, Bradley Kocher, and Sam Linville.

Honorary Pallbearers were Gary Gilbert, Doss Weatherford, Ray Evans, and Jay Weatherford.
