According to a report from Region 8 News, Sharp County authorities are hunting for an armed man suspected of a shooting.
Sheriff Shane Russell said the shooting happened Thursday morning in the Buck Lane area of Poughkeepsie, telling Region 8 News reporter Hayden Savage that a man was hunting on his own property when another man approached him at gunpoint.
In Savage’s report, the property owner said the suspect shot his grandson in the hand.
Sheriff’s deputies, along with the Cave City Police Department, Arkansas State Police troopers, and other officers, are assisting in the search.
Russell said anyone on Buck Lane and Prosperity Road should stay inside their homes and lock their doors.
