The Batesville Area Arts Council (BAAC) has a new gallery assistant.

Juli Howard (pictured above) stepped into the role on Aug. 26.

“We are excited to welcome Juli to the Batesville Area Arts Council team,” said Kim Whitten, BAAC board president. “Her educational background in the arts and passion for serving the Batesville community will be an incredible asset. With the addition of the gallery assistant position a couple of years ago and under Carly Dahl’s leadership, the Batesville Area Arts Council has grown and expanded programming. Juli’s experience will no doubt help us continue that growth and fulfill our mission of enriching our community through the arts. We hope residents and visitors to Main Street will stop by the gallery and welcome Juli in her new role.”

As gallery assistant, Howard will assist in BAAC programming, including gallery exhibitions, workshops, and fundraising.

“I am absolutely delighted to serve as the gallery assistant for the Batesville Area Arts Council,” said Howard. “Having participated in their programs in the past, I look forward to supporting the gallery as a member of the BAAC team and connecting with the community through the arts. The Arts Council does such important work in making art accessible, and I am grateful to be a part of it.”

Howard received her BA in art and economics from Lyon College in Batesville in 2023. Outside of her work with the BAAC, she runs a small studio and produces illustrations, prints, and ceramic works.
