Chuck Sweet, 55 of Batesville passed away Friday, October 6, 2023.
He was born March 24, 1968, in Batesville to Robert ”Bob” Sweet and Elaine (Case) Sweet.
Chuck was of the Baptist faith and was the owner and president of Sweet’s Contracting and a member of Batesville Bassmasters. He loved to go fishing, hunting, boating, and playing with his dog, Piper. He enjoyed doing anything outdoors with his family. Chuck was loving, kind, goofy, selfless, and humble.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married May 21, 2010, Christina (Bishop) Sweet of the home; his parents; one son, Brentley Gipson of Batesville; three daughters, Reagan Sweet of Batesville, Riley Sweet of Batesville, and Makenzie Gipson of Batesville; one sister, Robin Courtney (David) of Batesville; one grandson, Kip Epperson; sister-in-law, Ginger Horton (Wayne); niece, Casen McCormick (Paden); and nephews, Corbett Courtney (Peyton) and Cory and Owen Horton.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Nellie Mae Sweet, and maternal grandparents, Charles and Elaine Case.
Pallbearers are David Carter, Corbett Courtney, Brentley Gipson, Clark Nail, Randy Everett, and Troy Sharp. Honorary pallbearers are Pete Musgrave, Bill Beller, Tony Thrower, Donald Boles, Kyler Epperson, Sam Stalker, and John Todd Stalker.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Stacy Reed and Tracy McMahan officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. just before the service.
