Batesville Area Arts Council’s Artoberfest a big success

The Batesville Area Arts Council (BAAC) hosted the 7th annual Artoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 21.

Artoberfest featured over 40 local and regional artists and makers, a tie-dye t-shirt station, and live music by Ed Casper, Low Level Echoes, and Erin Waters. (Scroll down for more images from the event.)

The festival also included a sidewalk chalk art competition and a coloring contest for kids of all ages.

The 2023 Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest winners for K – 6th Grade include 1st Place: Carli Hubbard, 2nd Place: Sloane Hodges, 3rd Place: Kambryn Rogers. The Junior High – College age winners include, 1st Place: Cloey Miller, 2nd Place: Autumn Babb, 3rd Place: Elisabeth Gerber.

Students in grades K through 12th grade participated in the Artoberfest Coloring Contest, and the 1st place winners in three grade categories were chosen by votes on our Facebook page. Coloring Contest winners included: Leah Duneman (9th grade), Sophia Southerland (4th grade), and Lettie Liles (3rd grade — pictured below).

This year’s Artoberfest was presented by Citizens Bank and sponsored by First Community Bank, Fuller Bumpers, Wood Family Dealerships, and the Bank of Cave City. The event was held in conjunction with Main Street Batesville’s Nightmare on Main Street Parade.
