Rhudene R. Melton, 98, of Strawberry, Arkansas passed away November 8, 2023, at the Lawrence Hall Health & Rehabilitation Center in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. She was born February 16, 1925, in Tuckerman, Arkansas to George and Ada (Goff) Roberts. She was a homemaker and was well known for her cooking and baking and she enjoyed quilting. During World War II, Rhudene worked in the shipyards in Richmond, California.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vergil Melton; and her daughter, Becky Schroeder.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Dawn Schroeder and her husband, Henry Clarke of Orange, California.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City, Arkansas with John High officiating. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery in Strawberry, Arkansas with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Henry Clarke, Oland Duncan, Jimmy Harp, Peter Ward and Kris Ward.
