David found solace and companionship in his loyal dog, Baby, sharing an unbreakable bond filled with love and warmth. His passion for fishing from the bank reflected a deep connection to nature, where he found peace and tranquility. A lover of the open road, David cherished the freedom of backroading in his trusty jeep, embracing the simplicity of life’s pleasures.

David is survived by his parents; his wife of twenty-six years, LaDonna Fortune; his daughter, Brittney Fortune (Tyler Freeman) of Newport; his son, Dacoda Fortune (Karina Shragal) of Tuckerman; his brother, Daniel Fortune of Newport.
The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Cheshier Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel.
