Robert Dale Gilliaum, 81, of Newport departed this life on Thursday, November 30, 2023. He was born on April 6, 1942, to Dale Franklin and Norma Loretta (Parker) Gilliaum.
Robert found fulfillment in the agricultural realm. A devoted farmer, he cultivated the land for an impressive 61 years and operated Gilliaum Feed and Seed with his daughter Janet for twenty-nine years. Robert’s commitment extended to community service as the past president of the Breckenridge Union Water Department and a former member of the Mayberry Levee District. His legacy is one of hard work, entrepreneurial spirit, and a deep-rooted connection to both family and community. Robert Dale Gilliaum’s memory lives on in the seeds he sowed and the bonds he nurtured.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry Gilliaum.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruby (Bullock) Gilliaum; his daughters, Tammy Evins (Phillip) of Jonesboro and Janet Henderson (Michael) of Newport; four grandchildren, Taryn Peek (Adam) of Searcy, Zach Evins of Jonesboro, Colton and Weston Henderson of Newport; his great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Max and Rowyn Peek all of Searcy.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Michael Henderson, Phillip Evins, Zach Evins, Colton Henderson, Weston Henderson and Rob Bullock.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Watson Cemetery with Edward Boyce officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel.
