Lena Ann (Stackhouse) Gibson of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the age of 60. She was born October 18, 1963, in Newport, the daughter of Doil and Evelyn (Doyle) Stackhouse.
Lena was a 1982 graduate of Newport High School, and a faithful employee of Arkansas Steel, dedicating 30 years of her life to the company. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and watching the Arkansas Razorbacks. Lena loved to cook, an activity she was wonderful at. Most importantly, she loved her family. She loved her niece and nephews, and great-niece and nephew, as though they were her very own children, never missing any activity or life event they experienced.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents, Doil and Evelyn Stackhouse.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Jerry Gibson of the home; one sister, Donna Simmons and husband, Roger of Newport; niece and nephews, R.J. Simmons and wife, Stephanie, of Newport, Katelyn Simmons of Bentonville, and Ethan Simmons of Newport; and her great nephew and niece, Mason and McKinley; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
