Kelly Jackson (pictured above, right, with Citizens Bank’s Community Engagement Officer Ashley Engles), kitchen manager at Batesville High School Charter, is the recipient of December’s “Above and Beyond Award” from Citizens Bank.

According to a release from the bank, Jackson “leads with kindness and wisdom…runs an efficient kitchen, but also finds time to invest herself in the lives of her students and associates.

Her peers said:

• “Kelly goes above and beyond outside her own kitchen to help every kitchen in our district. She steps out of her comfort zone and is willing to train at other schools while running her own kitchen flawlessly. The kids love her and have a special bond with her. We love to see managers like Kelly putting their all into the kitchen.”

• “Kelly is always willing to help with whatever is needed in any of our kitchens or catering events. She runs a top-notch kitchen and leads with kindness and knowledge. Her staff love her and she loves them; it is evident in the atmosphere when working with her. She is one of our top trainers and gets sent all over the state to help train new kitchen managers. I could not do my job without her.”

• “Kelly has always been a very important part of our district’s team. She started at Sulphur Rock, moved to a manager position at Eagle Mountain, and has finally landed at our biggest campus, Batesville High School Charter. She oversees the feeding of over 1000 students and staff daily.”

Since 2012, Citizens Bank and the Batesville School District have recognized staff members who go “above and beyond” to realize the district’s mission to empower today’s students for tomorrow’s challenges. Staff in all schools and departments throughout the district nominate award recipients, who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card, and a 16-ounce insulated cup from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Batesville School Board meeting each month.
