Minnie Marie (Handshy) Bagwell of Tupelo, Arkansas departed this life on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born December 26, 1936, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of John and Minnie Handshy.
Mrs. Bagwell began working for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft and then became a Data Processor for Harris Hospital. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Tupelo. Mrs. Bagwell loved art and enjoyed creating pottery and painting.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Elmer Bagwell, Jr.; five brothers, John, Orville, Arthur, Donald, and Emery; five sisters, Catherine, Margaret, Ruth, Violet, and Dorothy; and her parents.
Mrs. Bagwell is survived by her two sons, Jay Preston Bagwell and fiancé, Susie Combs, and Richard Lee Bagwell and wife, Krissten, all of Tupelo; four grandchildren, Amanda Dawn Spinks and husband, Levi, Amber Lynn Bagwell, Jordan Lee Bagwell, and Peyton Marie Bagwell; and two great-grandchildren, Lily and T.J. Spinks.
Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Sandhill Cemetery, with Bro. Bobby Bowen officiating.
