Judy Pearson, the Midland School District’s media specialist and librarian, was recently named January’s “Citizens Bank Shine Like a Mustang Award.”

Pearson assists in several aspects of a student’s journey and cares about their success and growth at school. Her peers said of her:

• “Ms. Judy works tirelessly to make sure students are getting the help they need. She works with parents, students, and staff to help students get work completed and turned in. She works with the counselor to help students register for the ACT and make plans for their future. Ms. Judy shines like a Mustang in every possible way.”

• “Ms. Judy is an amazing asset to our school. She has started clubs to give students a range of activities to participate in. She also works with them one-on-one if they are struggling in some of their classes. In short, she is a joy to be around, and she is quick to recognize the talent in others.”

With this program, “Citizens Bank and Midland School District aim to recognize staff members who shine in their role as a Mustang to live out the district’s vision to engage learning at high levels and embrace challenges without fear of failure,” the bank said in a release.

Staff nominate the award recipients who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card, and a 16-ounce insulated cup from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Midland School Board meeting each month.
