Obituary: Perry Rayburn Horn

Perry Rayburn Horn, 85, of Batesville passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, in Batesville.  He was born April 29, 1938, in Sidney to Glen Edgar and Marie Hamlett.  He was an insurance salesman and a member of the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church.

He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren as well as riding his side by side and watching deer in his front yard.  Perry never met a stranger and enjoyed conversation and being around his church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Terry Horn.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Diane Caldwell Horn of the home; a son, Brian Horn (Jody) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two sisters, Joy Marlin and Joan Crouch both of Cave City; six grandchildren, Issac, Ella, Adam, Maggie Beth, Nick and Marley.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Philadephia Missionary Baptist Church with Dalton Richey and Tracy Grissom officiating.

Burial will follow at the Liberty Cemetery, located at Gainsboro.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time at the church.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Caldwell, Blake Caldwell, Tim Crouch, Mark Crouch, Devin Grissom and Eric Wood.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Issac, Ella, Adam, Maggie Beth, Nick, Marley, Gene Melton, Frankie Caldwell, Dennis Crouch, Scott Marlin and his church family at Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church.
