Obituary: Helen Marie (Dickison) Oliver

Helen Marie (Dickison) Oliver, 88, of Lynn passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, in Cave City. She was born March 11, 1935, in Imperial, CA, to George and Vida (Bellamy) Dickison. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was active in the Ladies Auxiliary. Helen was one of the first employees at Banquet Foods and later retired at Skil Manufacturing. Helen enjoyed gardening, crafting, camping, quilting and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She also loved road trips and traveling with her husband, Jimmy.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Jimmy Oliver; four brothers, Hardaway Dickison, George Dickison, Von Dickison, Donald “Butch” Dickison and one sister, Frances (Dickison) Rudd.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Oliver (Debbie) of Lynn and Ranny Oliver (Sharon) of Lynn; one daughter, Linda Johnson (Scotty) of Saffell; seven grandchildren, Brady Oliver (Leslie), Kristi Rawls (Craig), Jennifer Gill (Joey), Trey Highfield, Eric Oliver, Megan Jones (Jared) and Natalie Johnson; eight great-grandchildren, Brayden Oliver, Garrett Oliver, Brayden Hufstedler, Kason Hufstedler, Tyler Ditto, Gus Jones, Wade Jones and Noah Jones and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Phillip Lewallen and Bro. Jerry Chandler officiating. The music will be by Brandi Johnson and Lana Doyle. Burial will follow in the Dry Creek Cemetery at Lynn.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from noon until service time at the church.

Pallbearers will be Jared Jones, Craig Rawls, Ranny Oliver, Scotty Johnson, Steve Oliver, Brady Oliver, Nathan Oliver and Danny Oliver.

Honorary Pallbearers are her grandsons, Eric Oliver, Trey Highfield and Joey Gill; and her great-grandsons.
