Billy Ray Burlison of Bradford, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the age of 89. He was born September 17, 1934, the youngest of nine children born to George Ivy and Eliza Adeline (Meachum) Burlison.
Mr. Burlison worked for Revere for nearly 40 years. He enjoyed playing guitar and tending to his garden. Having never met a stranger, Mr. Burlison enjoyed visiting with people and sharing laughter with them. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.
Mr. Burlison was preceded in death by two brothers, Buster Burlison and infant L.C. Burlison; six sisters, Grace Monday, Donnie Mathis, Violet Kennedy, infant Edna Burlison, Agnes Smith, and Kathleen Moody; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean (Chupp) Burlison, of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Burlison, of Nashville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Alicia Green, Rebecca Dattilo, and Anthony Burlison; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2024, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Lynn Smith and Mr. Llano Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Coffeyville Cemetery.
