The Batesville School District (BSD) has named Casey Burnside (pictured) as the incoming principal of Batesville Junior High School Charter (BJHSC).
“With 14 years of dedicated experience in education, a strong academic background, and a passion for student growth, Burnside is poised to lead the junior high toward a brighter future,” the BSD said in a media release.
A graduate of ASU Jonesboro, Burnside holds a Bachelor of Science in Mid-Level Education, a Master of Science in Educational Theory and Practice, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership-Principalship. She also holds a National Board Certification.
Burnside’s career journey includes roles as a STEM lab teacher, classroom educator specializing in fourth grade, Academic Coach, and Dean of Students.
“This diverse experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of the educational landscape and a unique perspective on fostering positive school culture,” the district said in the release.
“I believe junior high education is more than imparting knowledge; it’s about fostering growth, building confidence, and helping students find their way in the world,” said Burnside. “I aim for BJHSC to be an exciting place for learning, where kids thrive, and parents are eager to send them off, knowing their students will receive top-notch education and plenty of fun opportunities to just be kids.”
Batesville School District Superintendent Dr. Ken James expressed excitement about Burnside’s appointment.
“We are thrilled to welcome Casey Burnside as our new junior high principal,” said James. “Her extensive experience and dedication to student success align perfectly with our goals of improving school culture, boosting morale, and elevating our test scores. Together, we will create an environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported.”
Outside of her professional achievements, Burnside has been married to TJ, her husband of 18 years, and she is mother to two daughters, Avery and Anna James, who both attend the Batesville School District.
